EHB: 5 corridors for 2030 targets

European Hydrogen Backbone publishes five potential hydrogen supply corridors to meet Europe’s accelerated 2030 hydrogen goals

Gas Connect Austria and Trans Austria Gasleitung are part of the EHB Initiative. With their existing gas pipeline systems connecting Slovakia, Hungary, Italy and Germany, they are represented in Corridors A and E. As early as 2030, GCA’s WAG pipeline and one of TAG’s parallel lines could be available for hydrogen transport. The Austrian gas grid could thus supply not only domestic industry but also Germany and neighbouring consuming countries with significant quantities of green hydrogen from Ukraine or Romania or from the North African region via Italy.
